Student's Grievance Redressal

In compliance with the guidelines of the University Grant Commission (UGC) the Student’s Grievance Redressal Committee of Vidya University, Meerut has been constituted as follows:

Note: Student members are nominated for a term of one academic year The complainant must provide:

1. Objective:

To provide a mechanism for students to redress grievances related to academic, administrative, and other matters, ensuring fairness, transparency, and prompt resolution.

2. Scope of Grievances:
  • Grievances may include, but are not limited to:
  • Academic issues (e.g., evaluation, attendance, syllabus coverage)
  • Infrastructure and facilities
  • Harassment or discrimination of any kind
  • Ragging-related complaints
  • Financial concerns (fees, scholarships)
  • Examination and result-related issues
  • Conduct of faculty or staff
3. Quorum:

The quorum for the meeting including the Chairperson, but excluding the special invitee shall be three

4. Procedure for Filing Grievance:
  • Grievances can be submitted via:
  • Email to: grievance@vidya.edu.in
  • Suggestion/complaint boxes located across the campus
  • Written application Direct submission to SGRC office The complainant must provide:
  • Name, Roll Number, Department
  • Detailed description of the grievance
  • Supporting documents (if any)
5. Redressal Mechanism:
  • The SGRC will acknowledge the grievance within 3 working days.
  • A hearing/inquiry will be held (if required) within 7 working days.
  • Resolution and written response to be provided within 15 working days from receipt.
  • If unresolved, the matter can be escalated to the University Ombudsperson.
6. Meeting Frequency:

SGRC shall meet at least once a semester or as required based on the urgency of the complaints.

7. Confidentiality and Fairness:
  • All grievances will be dealt with confidentiality and without any fear of retaliation.
  • SGRC will ensure natural justice and impartiality in its proceedings

This order comes into immediate effect and will remain valid unless otherwise modified or replaced and is issued with the approval of the competent authority. All concerned are requested to extend their full cooperation and support to the SGRC Committee in the discharge of its responsibilities.
